Behind the Scenes and on the Global Stage: A Few Months in Review

The last couple of months have been a mix of quiet groundwork and a big trip overseas. Some of it happened behind the scenes at Runway Barbershop, and some of it happened on the other side of the world in Chicago. Here is a look at what has been going on.

Bookings Are Moving Fast

Over April and May, only three appointments were missed across the entire two months. New clients have continued to come in alongside a loyal base of regulars, and client retention currently sits at ninety six percent. It is a clear sign that demand is strong and bookings are filling quickly. If you have been thinking about getting in, now is a good time to lock in your spot, as availability is becoming harder to come by.

Stepping Onto a Global Stage in Chicago

From there it was on to Chicago for the Wahl Global Barber Battle. It is the kind of event that puts into perspective just how big this industry is, and how much there is to learn when you put yourself in a room with barbers from all over the world. Being part of it meant standing alongside some of the most respected names in barbering internationally, and competing at that level sharpens everything, technique, communication, and the way you carry yourself under pressure.

Representing, and Bringing It Back to Canberra

Travelling as part of the Wahl team came with a sense of responsibility. Every barber there was representing their country and their craft, and for me that meant representing Australian barbering, and by extension, the standard I hold myself to back home. The real value of a trip like that is not just the event itself, it is what gets brought back. New techniques, new ways of thinking about consultations, and new standards to hold myself to. Every client who sits in my chair benefits from that exposure, because it keeps pushing the level of what I offer.

Between the work behind the scenes and the experience in Chicago, it has been a few months of investing in what I can offer every client who sits in my chair. If you are in Canberra and looking for a barber who takes the details seriously and is always raising the standard, get in touch to book an appointment, and follow along on social media to see what is coming next.
