The First Month at Runway Barbershop

The first month of Chris Taulanga Barber inside Runway Barbershop Canberra has been about connection. Familiar faces walking through the door, new ones finding me for the first time, and a community that keeps growing every week.

When I made the move, the goal was simple. To create a space where every client feels understood, every cut feels intentional, and every visit feels like more than just a haircut.

Building Momentum

In the first four weeks, 296 services were completed. Every appointment represented trust. A conversation, a reset, a moment to bring someone’s confidence forward.

The energy in this new space has been something special. Between regulars who’ve followed me from the start and new clients discovering the brand through Instagram or Google, it’s been a reminder that word travels when the work speaks for itself.

A Moment of Recognition

In the middle of it all came something I’ll never forget. I was named Wahl Australasia Barber of the Year 2025.

That moment means more than words. It represents years of focus, patience, and the clients who’ve supported me through every stage.

Next May, I’ll travel to Chicago to represent Australasia on the global stage, competing with some of the best barbers from around the world.
