<image:caption>March was a strong month across education, the shop, and the overall growth of the brand. Between teaching barbers across the country, being featured in an international publication, and expanding the product offering in the shop, it’s been a month focused on growth and industry contribution.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - March Wrap-Up — Education, Industry Recognition & Growth - Education — Teaching Barbers Nationwide</image:title>
<image:caption>In March, I delivered two online education seminars to barbers across Australia. The first was my Consultation Framework Seminar, where I teach the consultation system I use every day in the shop. The focus of this seminar is communication, clarity, and creating structure in the service so barbers can improve client retention and deliver more consistent results. The second was my Fade Mentorship Class, where I break down my fading system — including zero line placement, weight distribution, blending, and understanding head shape. The goal of this class is to help barbers troubleshoot common problems and improve consistency in their fades. Education is becoming a big part of what I do. Being able to share systems that I use daily and seeing other barbers apply them in their own shops is something I take seriously, because it contributes to raising the standard of the industry overall.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - March Wrap-Up — Education, Industry Recognition & Growth - Featured in EVO Magazine</image:title>
<image:caption>In March, I was also featured in EVO Magazine, a global print and digital publication that showcases barbers, hairdressers, educators, industry leaders, and new trends in the hair and beauty industry. The magazine features professionals from around the world who are contributing to the industry through education, creativity, and innovation. Being featured in an international industry publication is a great honour, and it represents not just personal recognition, but also the standard of barbering coming out of Australia.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - March Wrap-Up — Education, Industry Recognition & Growth - New Product Range — BLAK Haircare</image:title>
<image:caption>This month, we also introduced BLAK Haircare into the shop. BLAK is an Australian men’s grooming brand founded by barbers and developed from years of industry experience, with a focus on professional-grade, salon-quality products designed for performance and everyday use. Bringing in BLAK aligns with the direction of the shop — offering high-quality products that match the standard of the service. The goal is to make sure clients are not only getting a premium haircut, but also using the right products at home so they can maintain the haircut properly between appointments.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Craft, Education, and a Fully Booked Out Month - Guest Presentation CIT Canberra</image:title>
<image:caption>On the 12th of February I was invited by CIT to deliver a guest presentation to their barbering students. The session ran for three and a half hours and focused on the journey that led me to where I am today in the industry. I shared the lessons I have learned over the years and the systems that I rely on every day when working with clients. We spoke about consultation, communication, and the level of detail that goes into every haircut. These are the things that clients might not always see on the surface, but they are the foundations that create consistency and quality in the chair. It was a great opportunity to give back to the industry and spend time with students who are just starting their careers. Seeing that level of enthusiasm reminded me of why I take the craft seriously every single day.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Craft, Education, and a Fully Booked Out Month - National Online Seminar</image:title>
<image:caption>A few days later on the 16th of February I hosted an online seminar with five barbers from across Australia. During this session we focused heavily on consultation and the importance of understanding exactly what a client wants before any haircut begins. One of the highlights of the seminar happened when a new client arrived for their appointment during the call. With permission, I walked the group through the consultation process in real time so they could see how the framework works in a real shop environment. The barbers were able to watch how the conversation unfolds, how expectations are clarified, and how decisions about the haircut are made before the clippers even touch the hair. Moments like that show how important communication is in this industry. A strong consultation is often what separates a good haircut from a great one.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Craft, Education, and a Fully Booked Out Month - Fully Booked Out Month</image:title>
<image:caption>While these education sessions were happening, the shop floor remained as busy as ever. Across the entire month of February there were only three appointment spaces that went unfilled, and all three were the result of cancellations. Aside from those, every other appointment slot was booked. For me that level of demand always comes back to the same fundamentals. Consistency, attention to detail, and making sure every client who sits in the chair receives the same level of focus and care. Teaching and sharing knowledge is something I enjoy, but the most important place for that experience to show up is always in the chair with my clients. February was a strong reminder of how powerful those fundamentals can be.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Setting the Standard - Education Built for the Real World</image:title>
<image:caption>In January, I delivered an education session designed around practical transferability. The focus was not theoretical techniques or trend based cutting, but systems that work in real shop environments. From consultation structure and haircut execution to time control and client communication, every technique showcased was chosen for one reason. It can be applied immediately in day to day barbering. Alongside the practical component, the session also addressed brand positioning and content strategy. The goal was to help barbers present their work online with intent, consistency, and professionalism. In today’s landscape, technical skill and digital presence work together. One without the other limits growth. Education moving forward will continue to bridge this gap. Strong fundamentals behind the chair, supported by clarity in brand and content online.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Setting the Standard - Preparation for the Global Stage</image:title>
<image:caption>January also marked a period of focused preparation. Later this year in May,, I will be representing Australasia at the Wahl Global Barber Battle in Chicago. Preparing for a global stage goes beyond the haircut itself. It demands discipline, clarity in process, and consistency under pressure. This phase has reinforced the importance of fundamentals. Strong consultation, controlled execution, and intentional decision making are non negotiable at this level. The same systems used daily in the shop are the systems that hold up on an international platform. Competition is not about proving something new. It is about refining what already works.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Setting the Standard - Clarity in Direction</image:title>
<image:caption>January reinforced what matters moving forward. The focus remains on strong consultation systems, transferable techniques that hold up in any shop environment, education that creates real confidence rather than confusion, and brand and content strategy built on intention rather than trends. Operating independently under Chris Taulanga Barber sharpens accountability. Every standard upheld behind the chair and every piece of content shared online reflects the same principle. Consistency over noise.</image:caption>

<image:caption>As the new year begins, it’s important to acknowledge the year just passed. Every appointment represents trust, and that trust is never taken lightly. The past year was focused on consistent barbering standards, professional service, and doing the work properly. <image:caption>I’m genuinely grateful to every client who booked, showed up, and trusted the process. Whether it was your first visit or you’ve been a regular client throughout the year. When clients commit to one barber, results improve over time. Each appointment becomes a continuation of the last, not a standalone visit, and that’s where long-term grooming results are built.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - A Month of Mastery & Full Chairs - Bringing Education to Life at Alkami World</image:title>
<image:caption>One of the biggest highlights of November was launching my new barbering education program. I kicked things off with a workshop at Alkami World in Belconnen, a respected barbershop here in Canberra. It was a privilege to teach, share techniques, and connect with barbers who are genuinely committed to levelling up their skillset. This workshop officially marks the start of my education brand, and I’m now taking bookings for one-on-one sessions, workshops, and shadowing for barbers looking to refine their fades, improve their scissor work, and elevate their overall service. Since launching the program, two more workshops have already been booked for the coming months, and I’m incredibly grateful for the trust and interest from the community.</image:caption>
